Union Transport minister Hon. Mr Nitin Gadkari says India’s electric vehicle policy will be in place by this year end and will cover both light and commercial vehicles like cars and buses.

To help support this national mission on Electric vehicles, Science and Technology Park, Pune along with ARAI on the occasion of World environment day had organized a Workshop on Electrical Vehicle Technologies for companies involved in this domain. One of the focus of the event was to create a platform for Startups to learn about the trends and new developments in the field of Electrical Vehicle technologies.

Interactive sessions with industry and ARAI experts on various aspects of EV technologies was organized. The event was inaugurated by Mrs. Rashmi Urdhwareshe and Director-­‐ARAI, Dr Rajendra Jagdale, Director General – Science and Technology Park Pune. The keynote was given by Mr Gajanan Kale of Mahindra Electric on the journey of their flagship product, the Mahindra e2O. Mr. M R Saraf, Technology Group Leader, ARAI elaborated on the various technologies and facilities available at ARAI related to the Electric Vehicles. Innovators representing various startups in this domain presented their products and its innovative technologies.
