SCITECH SURYA
Scitech Park on a mission mode to provide alternate power to remote corners of Maharashtra has taken up distribution of Solar LED lamps to 1000 school children from 9 extremely remote villages in the naxalite areas namely Hanuman Nagar, Hudi, Gonde Mahagaon Tanda, Durga Nagar, Burukulwadi, Vaitagwadi, Pardi Khurd, Dehli Tanda and Rui . In the first phase of distribution apart from the above villages Scitech Park had also identified beneficiaries from villages which are 15-18km from the Nanded city like Kiwla, Borgaon, Takalgaon and Dhakni. These villages though situated close to Nanded city are facing major power cuts throughout the day to the tune of almost 12-16 hours a day. Hence, it was a suggestion from the DPO office itself to look into these villages which are suffering heavily due to severe power cuts. This project was undertaken with an aim to provide power to children primarily for their education and also this would help the household for various activities during long hours of loadshedding using renewable energy source.
