Science and Technology based, high-end skill building is an instrument, to improve the effectiveness and employability of youth, so as to contribute to the productivity of human resources having science and technology background. This also involves basic capacity building for enhancing employability and income earning potential of marginalized youths of the society. Skill training facilitates securing wage employment while entrepreneurial training would generate employment through setting up of MSMEs. Training programs are also provided for hand holding support in post training phase thereby boosting the success rate.
Scitech Park has a state – of – art, modern infrastructure for conducting various training programs in the field of Technology Entrepreneurship. The premise has all modern training aids with in-house mentoring support of experts from different domain knowledge on campus from various university departments and off campus from various national/state level networked R & D institutes and from industries. Scitech Park has Technology Business Incubator located at Aundh, where Innovative Entrepreneurs nurture business ideas and eventually graduate as successful entrepreneurs. This TBI also has state-of-the-art training infrastructure where need based training inputs are imparted with extensive mentoring support.
Scitech Park has successfully implemented a project supported by European Union & Dept. of Science and Technology, Govt. of India, where in skill training in New Emerging Technologies (NET) is imparted to the vulnerable and marginalized groups from backward areas. More than 600 persons have been trained involving school drop outs, youth and women from Akole and Sangamner Tehsil of Ahmednagar district, Maharashtra. The training sector implemented was Renewable Energy and a state-of-the-art Nodal Training Center has been established at Sangamner.
Scitech Park has also created a skill training center for Differently Abled persons at Society for Welfare of Physically Handicapped (Differently Abled) Education & Research Centre. Skill Training Programs specific and more relevant to the target group of differently abled are being conducted at SWPH & RC, Wanorie.
On similar grounds skill and entrepreneurship development centers are being planned at Sangamner (Ahmednagar District), Lanja (Ratnagiri District) and at Kankavli (Sindhudurg District).
These programs are sponsored by various agencies both government and corporate sector through CSR.
