Scitech Park, Pune had implemented ‘JALDOOT- Clean Safe Drinking Water Project’ for Sudumbre Village, Maval Taluka, Pune under Prime Minister’s Sansad Adarsh Gaon Yojana (SAGY) with financial assistance from General Insurance Corporation (GIC), Mumbai. Sudumbre village has a population of approximately 4000-5000 people.
In this village Scitech Park, Pune had installed one Centralized Water Filtration Unit of capacity 2000LPH with coin vending machine for the core houses. This system is catering to a population of approx.3000-4000 villagers.
Scitech Park has also commissioned one JALDOOT vehicle to deliver safe clean drinking water at doorstep to nearby wadis like Thakarwadi etc within a distance of 1-2 kms from the main village which do not have provision of filtered safe drinking water. Scitech Park team along with Tehsildar, Sarpanch, Upsarpanch and Gramsevaks of the village had conducted gram sabha and had gone to schools and houses in order to make villagers aware of the advantages of safe clean drinking water requesting everyone to drink clean safe water from Jaldoot. This programme was launched on 27th March, 2015. Since then the project has been successfully running in the village and 60-70% villagers use this clean safe water on a regular basis for drinking and cooking.
