Scitech Park, Pune has organized a Dental Hygiene Awareness Camp on 08th October, 2022 at Panawadi

A Dental Hygiene Awareness Camp was organised by Science and Technology Park, Pune along with M.A. Rangoonwala College of Dental Sciences and Research Centre, Pune on 8th October 2022 at the Zilla Parishad Primary School, Panawadi. A team of doctors, associate professors and ASHA workers attended to 150 villagers with support from the primary and high school teachers of Panawadi. It was enthusiastically supported by Shri. Haribhau Lole, Social worker and Ex-Sarpanch, Panawadi, Shri. Abasaheb Lole, Sarpanch, Panawadi village and Gram Panchayat members.

Among the adult population, Periodontitis was mainly observed along with mobility in teeth; false partial Anodontia; requirement of prosthesis; generalized attrition due to tobacco and paan chewing practices and faulty oral hygiene habits. Among children in the age group of 5-10 years, gross dental caries was observed owing to candy chewing and faulty tooth cleaning habits.  Overall good hygiene was observed in the age group 10-17 years but with the requirement of orthodontic treatment.

All the villagers have been advised related treatment plans and were asked to visit their nearest dental clinic.
